YOU MUST HAVE YOUR
WINDOWS INSTALLATION DISK OR CD BEFORE CONTINUING OR HAVE VERIFIED THAT
THE CAB FILES ARE ON THE HARD DRIVE AND HAVE NO FILES MISSING
Ensure that the CD drive
is accessible and working before deleting anything from the Communications
Stack. If you do not have the Windows installation software, or the CD
drive is not responding, do not continue.

The problem might be that the Winsock might not have been properly
un-installed
